Youth Climate Action Team Inc.
YCAT Inc. is based in DC, Maryland, and Virginia, but is composed of over 2,000+ in 5 continents and 27 countries around the world. We are led by a Board of Directors, which facilitates the actions of our 8 core teams and 2 subcommittees.
YCAT Inc. achieves its mission through grassroots organizing to catalyze initiatives including lobbying, climate education, social-media campaigns, community congression, climate organizing workshops, school outreach, and direct action which have reached 300,000+ worldwide.
YCAT Inc. relies on the passion and energy of youth as prior generations have failed to act. We aim to provide low-commitment opportunities to members and volunteers to increase accessibility and operate as a top-heavy organization, where our Board of Directors does most of the work.
Youth Climate Action Network
The UNESCO Youth Climate Action Network is an innovative platform connecting youth climate networks from all over the world to enhance cooperation and upscale youth-led climate action and research.
The network was launched in 2019 during COP25 in Madrid to bring together active and passionate young climate leaders and support them to build a sustainable future.
Zero Hour
The mission of Zero Hour is to center the voices of diverse youth in the conversation around climate and environmental justice. Zero Hour is a youth-led movement creating entry points, training, and resources for new young activists and organizers (and adults who support our vision) wanting to take concrete action around climate change. Together, we are a movement of unstoppable youth organizing to protect our rights and access to the natural resources and a clean, safe, and healthy environment that will ensure a livable future where we not just survive, but flourish.
We believe in the power of youth voices. We want the voices of young people to be heard, but also considered in decisions affecting our planet’s future. We work tirelessly to hold decision-makers accountable for implementing effective climate solutions.Creating meaningful spaces for dialogue and collaboration, we empower local communities to take charge of their sustainable future.
Earth Uprising
The Earth Uprising Global Youth Leadership Council (GYLC) is the decision making body for Earth Uprising’s global campaigns and actions. The GYLC is also the governing body for Earth Uprising’s global youth-led chapters, and will provide leadership, awareness and education throughout the youth climate movement.
This branch will focus on assisting youth-led existing and new environmental legal cases. Additionally, this branch will also focus on assisting youth with initiating environmental justice policy proposals or continue advancing if the policy proposal work has been started. We know that law and policy have a lot to do with each other—they compliment each other. Hence, we made this a law and policy duo program. Creating climate justice policy proposals at all government levels and all around the world will help us strengthen environmental laws! If we can strengthen our environmental laws, then we are also helping set a winning environment for our environmental legal cases.
Climate Cardinals
Leveraging our volunteer base of 14,000+ youth in 80+ countries, Climate Cardinals empowers young people to educate and mobilize communities for climate action. This starts with translations. We’ve shown we can deliver, translating millions words of climate information into 100+ languages, and partnering with Google to accelerate our translations through AI.
Now, we are scaling our work to leverage global youth networks and innovative tech solutions to equip everyone, everywhere, to become part of the climate solution. Imagine a world where everyone can become a Climate Cardinal, messengers sounding the alarm on our world’s greatest threat.
